Of course, there is no better way to celebrate this anniversary than by doing what we do best and what
we are passionate about: sharing information, learnings and stories with our audience.
And our audience has been part of this growth story! So we would love for you to join us in reviewing
it.
Take a look!
The beginning of everything
Let’s go back to 2015. It is a year that philippines telegram data is well remembered by those of us
who speak the “language of Cervantes”: the 44th Copa América football tournament was held,
Colombian Paulina Vega won Miss Universe, and the Rock Content blog in Spanish was also born (we
couldn’t help but mention it).
At that time, Rock Content was a thriving Brazilian marketing company that, although it did not have
a defined and structured internationalization plan, understood the importance of having a presence
among the Spanish-speaking Internet community.
In fact, during the first year all posts were translations of articles from the company’s Portuguese
blog.
The first translated content , which served to formalize the start of the project, was about Inbound
Marketing, which was later updated with new information and formats.
For example, that article and the others published during the first year were accompanied by real
photos, which were later replaced by designed images, following the current style.
In terms of subject matter, the different materials sought to bring the Spanish-speaking public closer
to Content Marketing , as it is Rock Content’s value proposition, and other marketing and promotion
strategies and trends.
Another interesting aspect about that time is that the domains and names of the blogs were different
from those of today: the Spanish one was Marketing de Contenidos and the Portuguese one was Marketing de Conteúdo.
Why did we change our website address? We’ll talk about that later! First, we need to touch on other
topics to explain how we went from being a portal without original content to generating
more than 200 thousand contacts and getting close to 1 million monthly revenues .
Valentina’s arrival
While the first year was not wasted time, it how to make money on advertising? was really impossible
to achieve the expected reach without the production of original content.
For this reason, the arrival of Valentina Giraldo , in 2016, is a fact that cannot go unnoticed in the
history of the Rock Content blog in Spanish.
Our current International Marketing Supervisor, a Colombian national, grew up alongside the portal,
since at that time she was not an expert in Content Marketing or internationalization.
The reason for his arrival was the need for someone who was native Spanish to produce the content,
and he was not assigned the tasks of supervision, planning, analysis and editing that he currently
does.
Valentina’s profile was ideal for establishing an attractive approach for markets in which Content
Marketing was not yet well known, as she thought of the articles from her perspective: ” What would I
like to learn and know about Content Marketing and other strategies? “
In addition, it took into account content ideas that generated a lot of traffic, since they were topics of
great interest, and that were also related to Digital Marketing , such as the use of social networks, for example.
Accelerated growth
3 weekly posts is very little for a blog lack data that hopes to position itself as a reference for marketing among the Hispanic audience, and at Rock Content we understand this very well!
That is why the third year of the blog began with many changes: freelancers were included and very clear strategies were defined , among them:
- scale of contents;
- mass publication of articles;
- mass publication of ebooks;
- significant increase in contacts.
The email marketing methodology was also continued, seeking to show contacts and the general audience that there was also a human on the other side of the screen.
Emails and messages, just like today, were written in a friendly manner and storytelling was regularly used .
Through these strategies, ideas and values and with the help of freelancers, who were initially only 2 (both Colombian), the blog achieved excellent positioning, especially in countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Spain.
Then, as work demands increased, freelance writers based in Brazil joined in (some of them spoke Spanish natively and others had learned it) and, months later, some of them became proofreaders.
In addition, Rock Content’s international market team grew with the addition of two Marketing analysts: Érico Mafra and Luiza Perez .
Change of web address
This is a key point! This is one of the biggest changes in Rock Content’s history, and also one of the most recent.
In 2019 we migrated the Marketing de Contenidos blog (and also the Portuguese one: Marketing de Conteúdo), with which we made ourselves known to the Hispanic market, to the Rock Content domain .
In this way, it was made official that the blog was part of the company, although it was something that we always conveyed to our clients and the general audience.
So, “why didn’t they create the blog within the same domain from the beginning?” Yes, we understand that you might be asking that question.
To understand this, we have to go back to 2013, a time when Content Marketing was very little known and many people had never even heard of the term.
Faced with this reality, Rock focused on introducing this concept to the market in a natural way, and a very good way to do so was through the blog’s old web address.
And that’s it!
Although, obviously, we still have many things left to tell, we have shared the most relevant aspects of these 4 years of history.
It would not have been possible to achieve such growth without you ! We know it’s a bit of a cliché, but it really fits perfectly in this case.
For this reason, we invite you to join us in the future, in which we hope to strengthen Rock Content as an international brand and deepen the knowledge of the Hispanic community about our specialty: Content Marketing.
We still have many more lines to write! If you want to be part of them and continue to receive content, subscribe to our newsletter!
